Skills - Must Have:
  • CPA designation
  • 5–7 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm
  • Minimum 2 years of post-CPA experience in tax
  • Completion or enrollment in CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program (Level II or higher)
  • Experience preparing and reviewing corporate, personal, and trust tax returns
  • Proficiency in CaseWare
  • Proficiency in Caseview
  • Proficiency in Taxprep
  • Experience managing tax planning and compliance for private companies
  • Experience leading and mentoring tax staff
  • Technical tax research and advisory experience
  • Knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal tax legislation

Requirements

  • CPA designation in good standing
  • Completion or near completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program (Level II or III preferred)
  • 5–7 years of experience in a Canadian public accounting firm
  • At least 2 years of post-CPA experience in a tax-focused role
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian corporate and personal tax legislation
  • Experience managing files, teams, and client relationships independently
  • Proficiency in CaseWare, Caseview, Taxprep, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax compliance and planning services for a diverse portfolio of private companies and owner-managed businesses
  • Review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns prepared by staff
  • Conduct technical research and assist in the implementation of tax planning strategies
  • Supervise, mentor, and support the development of junior and intermediate tax staff
  • Coordinate and manage special tax engagements, such as reorganizations and estate planning
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive advisory support
  • Collaborate with partners and other departments to deliver integrated client service
