Skills - Must Have:
  • CPA designation – Required Minimum 5 years of progressive audit experience (preferably in public practice) – Required 
  • Strong technical expertise in Canadian accounting standards (ASPE and IFRS) – Required 
  • Hands-on knowledge of Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) – Required 
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience – Required 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a client-focused approach – Required

Responsibilities

Audit Engagement Leadership
  • Manage the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements, ensuring all deliverables meet professional standards and deadlines.
  • Oversee risk assessments, materiality calculations, and audit testing to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Review financial statements prepared under frameworks such as ASPE, IFRS, or other relevant standards.
  • Address technical accounting and audit issues, providing guidance to both clients and the team.
Client Relationship Management
  • Will be the primary point of contact for clients during audit engagements, fostering trust and clear communication.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to clients on internal controls, risk management, and operational improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships by offering additional services or solutions.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of audit professionals, promoting a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support team members in achieving their career goals.
  • Assist in leading training initiatives to enhance the team’s technical knowledge.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Ensure all audit engagements comply with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS) and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Implement quality control measures to uphold the firm’s reputation for excellence.
  • Stay informed of changes in accounting and auditing standards, ensuring team compliance.
Strategic Contribution
  • Collaborate with partners and senior management to develop and implement firm strategies and goals.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing proposals and participating in networking events.
  • Identify opportunities to improve audit processes, tools, and methodologies.
