Skills - Must Have:
  • CPA designation completed

  • Currently enrolled in Year 3 (or completed) of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or MTax equivalent 
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act 
  • Strong technical tax research and writing skills Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members 
  • Client service-oriented with ability to manage multiple deadlines

Position Summary
As an Assistant Manager in our Tax team, you’ll play a key role in leading engagements, supporting strategic planning, and mentoring junior staff. This is a growth-oriented opportunity ideal for experienced Senior Associates ready to step into a leadership role within a dynamic, high-performing tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage tax compliance engagements and contribute to complex tax planning assignments.
  • Review and provide guidance on the preparation of corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Conduct technical tax research and provide analysis on a variety of issues related to corporate and cross-border tax matters.
  • Assist clients in implementing tax strategies that align with their business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with Partners and Senior Managers on planning engagements and ensuring timely client delivery.
  • Identify tax risks and planning opportunities for clients and assist in resolving complex tax matters.
  • Mentor and coach junior tax staff; provide performance feedback and contribute to team development.
  • Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for value-added services.
  • Contribute to internal process improvements and knowledge sharing within the tax practice.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Minimum 3+ years of progressive experience in Canadian tax within a public accounting firm.
  • CPA designation completed or near completion.
  • Enrolled in or completed the CPA In-Depth Tax Program or a Master's in Taxation (MTax).
  • Strong understanding of Canadian tax legislation and corporate tax matters.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to communicate complex tax issues clearly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Additional language proficiency is an asset.
